Role Overview

The Country Director will head the Doha office and regional portfolio, leading programme strategy, partnerships, and representation with donors and government counterparts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the country strategy and regional programme portfolio.
• Own relationships with national institutions and international donors.
• Oversee programme design, quality, and impact measurement.
• Manage budgets, compliance, and donor reporting.
• Represent the organization in regional forums and media.
• Build the senior programme team and national talent.
• Drive humanitarian and development integration where relevant.
• Ensure safeguarding and duty-of-care standards.

Requirements:

• 12+ years in international development, with 5+ in country or regional leadership.
• Proven donor engagement and resource mobilization.
• Programme management experience across multiple sectors.
• Strong grasp of compliance, safeguarding, and risk.
• Regional experience; Gulf institutional exposure preferred.
• Master’s degree in development, international relations, or management.
• English fluency; Arabic an advantage; polished representation.
