Role Overview

The Executive Director will head the national organization, leading strategy, income diversification, and mission delivery across research, support services, and community programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the national strategy and annual plans approved by the board.
• Own income growth: major gifts, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising.
• Oversee research grants and patient support programmes nationwide.
• Strengthen provincial chapters and volunteer engagement.
• Direct digital transformation of fundraising and service delivery.
• Represent the charity with media, government, and health partners.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and exemplary governance.
• Build a diverse, high-performing senior team and succession plans.

Requirements:

• 12+ years in non-profit leadership, with 5+ as Executive Director or CEO.
• A strong record of growing philanthropic and corporate income.
• Experience managing national programmes and multi-site teams.
• Familiarity with Canadian charity regulation and governance standards.
• Health-sector affinity; research funding exposure an advantage.
• Degree in a relevant field; master’s or fundraising credential preferred.
• Bilingual English and French is an asset; outstanding public communication.
