Senior Accountant | Flexera

Location: Remote (U.S.)
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 annually (Illinois residents)

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

• Support month-end close, including expense review, accruals, and late invoice accruals.
• Generate preliminary reports to ensure accurate financial close and assist with exception reporting.
• Maintain account reconciliations and investigate financial variances.
• Track Research & Development (R&D) expenses for accounting and reporting.
• Assist with year-end close and ensure smooth audit processes.

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Maintain a robust internal control environment through account reviews and financial investigations.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely responses to audit requests.
• Assist in maintaining general & subsidiary ledgers and operating expenses.

Process Improvement & Ad-Hoc Projects

• Identify and implement process improvements for more efficient accounting operations.
• Analyze workflows and procedures to streamline financial processes.
• Handle various ad-hoc projects as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP & financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
