Job Overview
BHFT, a proprietary algorithmic trading firm, is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory compliance for its electronic trading operations. This role involves developing compliance policies, monitoring trading activities, mitigating compliance risks, and ensuring regulatory adherence across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in financial regulations, risk management, and trade surveillance, with a focus on high-frequency and algorithmic trading environments.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Policy Development
✔ Develop and implement electronic trading compliance policies aligned with global financial regulations.
✔ Ensure adherence to CFTC, Market Abuse Directive, and other regulatory frameworks for algorithmic and HFT trading.
Trading Compliance & Risk Monitoring
✔ Oversee real-time monitoring of trading activities to detect and prevent compliance violations.
✔ Implement risk assessments and controls to mitigate potential regulatory and operational risks.
Stakeholder Collaboration
✔ Work closely with traders, developers, and technology teams to integrate compliance into trading systems.
✔ Liaise with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and regulatory compliance.
Training & Compliance Culture
✔ Conduct compliance training for trading staff and senior management to promote a culture of compliance.
✔ Provide guidance on regulatory changes, best practices, and industry updates.
Audit & Reporting
✔ Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
✔ Investigate compliance issues, maintain documentation, and recommend resolutions.
Qualifications & Experience
✔ Proven experience in financial compliance, with a focus on electronic, algorithmic, and high-frequency trading.
✔ Strong knowledge of financial regulations, trade surveillance, and risk management frameworks.
✔ Hands-on experience with compliance monitoring systems and trading platforms.
✔ Ability to analyze complex regulatory requirements and implement effective compliance policies.
✔ Excellent communication and negotiation skills for engaging with regulators and internal teams.
🎓 Education: Bachelor’s in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or related field (Advanced degree or CRCM/CAMS certification preferred).
