Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Disbursements Supervisor to oversee state payments to vendors, taxpayers, and employees. This role requires a strong leader with expertise in accounts payable, transaction flows, and internal controls. You will manage a high-volume payment environment, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and fraud mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Lead the state’s disbursement processes for vendor, taxpayer, and payroll payments
✔ Develop and manage a team, ensuring efficient financial operations
✔ Troubleshoot payment-related issues and implement effective solutions
✔ Maintain and enhance internal controls and fraud risk measures
✔ Oversee EFTs, check processing, and general ledger transactions
✔ Collaborate with state agencies like the Treasurer’s Office, Tax Commission, and Technology Services
✔ Continuously improve financial workflows and reporting systems
Minimum Qualifications
🔹 2+ years of leadership experience in finance or accounting
🔹 5+ years of expertise in accounts payable, banking, and internal controls
🔹 Experience managing high-volume financial transactions
🔹 Deep understanding of electronic funds transfers (EFTs) and check processing
🔹 Ability to implement financial policies across business units
Preferred Qualifications
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
✅ Knowledge of government/state accounting policies and ERP systems
✅ Experience with database management, Google Suite, and specialized financial tools
✅ Strong problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills
