We are a UK-based privately owned group of companies and are looking for a Finance and Accounting Manager to join our team to support the ongoing growth of the business.

You will be fully responsible for end-to-end bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, AR and AP for four operating businesses and the holding company. You will be responsible for coordinating with external accountants, team members involved in payments and salaries and the payroll providers for the businesses.
Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring trainer/ supplier invoices and timesheets are received on time and accurately – this will require ongoing interactions with over 100 trainers regularly
- Liaising with trainers to ensure all required documents are in place and with client representatives for sign off of service delivery
- Calculating and ensuring accurate monthly payments for teaching and expenses
- Ensuring client invoices are accurate and ensuring on-time payment through regular follow-ups with the client
- Creating, confirming and filing VAT returns and co-ordinating final accounts with external accountants
- Preparation and presentation of Xero based management accounts
- Receivable follow up and credit control
- Monthly reconciliations and payments to creditors
- Devising ways to streamline and improve finance and accounting processes
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working with UK small business accounts and finances
- Relevant qualification in finance, accounts or bookkeeping
- Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work under pressure
- High levels of competency and attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
- Experience with Xero and in automating/ simplifying finance workflows – all businesses are on Xero
- Excellent MS Office knowledge, familiarity with IT, and good numeracy skills
- Willingness to work hard, an aptitude to learn, tenacity, and a growth mindset
The role is being advertised as a full time position, however, we are open to part time and flexible options for the right candidate.
