The Chief of Staff-Colleague Experience Group is a critical role, responsible for a broad range of strategic and operational initiatives to support American Express and the Colleague Experience Group (CEG) strategic priorities. This role will report to the Vice President, Chief of Staff (COS) and Colleague Strategic Partner for CEG. The successful candidate will possess outstanding thought leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and organizational skills, and will have a proven record of operating independently and efficiently. The Director Assistant will also serve as the Colleague Strategic Partner (CSP) to the CEG function, in partnership with the VP COS.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide strategic support on a range of complex projects, advising, consulting, and supporting the CEG Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and key internal and external business partners on strategic priorities.
Act as a central point of contact for initiatives spearheaded by the VP, and for addressing information requests.
Serve as the Colleague Strategic Partner for the CEG function alongside the VP, including thought leadership, coaching and feedback, as well as drive organization talent strategy, leadership development and change management.
Design and lead high quality presentations for strategic topics.
Leadership and management of the office including team communications, market visits and forums and partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
Serve as the lead partner to Finance in managing the overall departmental budgeting and forecasting process.
Manage ad hoc special projects and represent the team on broader CEG related activities.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in project management and change management including ability to multi-task and handle shifting priorities with time-sensitive deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Highly motivated self-starter who can drive results and get things done in a self-directed manner, with excellent organizational skills and careful attention to detail.
Demonstrated organizational excellence and ability to influence and drive results.
Exceptional qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills and ability to use data to develop insights and inform decision making (issue identification, problem structuring, analysis, development of recommendations).
Proven ability to exercise the utmost discretion when handling confidential matters.
Highly collaborative and able to develop and build relationships across all levels of the organization to drive results.
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, including strong Microsoft office skills (PowerPoint, Excel).
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology, or equivalent, with 8-10+ years relevant experience.
Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
