Role Overview

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will own the company’s technology vision, platform architecture, and engineering delivery. Reporting to the CEO, the CTO will scale a secure, resilient payments platform, drive product velocity, and ensure technology leadership across availability, security, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end technology strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the payments platform.
• Lead and grow the engineering, data, and platform organizations across multiple locations.
• Ensure platform scalability, resilience, and 99.99%-class availability for payment processing.
• Own information security and compliance with PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and Central Bank of the UAE requirements.
• Drive architecture evolution toward cloud-native, event-driven services supporting new products and markets.
• Partner with product and commercial teams to launch features with speed and quality.
• Oversee data engineering, analytics infrastructure, and responsible AI adoption.
• Manage technology vendor, partner, and integration ecosystems including banks and card schemes.
• Champion engineering culture, talent development, and technical excellence.

Requirements:

• 15+ years in software engineering leadership, including 5+ years as CTO, VP Engineering, or Head of Platform.
• Deep experience in payments, banking, or other regulated financial-technology domains.
• Proven ownership of high-availability platforms and PCI DSS or equivalent security standards.
• Strong cloud-architecture credentials (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern engineering practices.
• Experience scaling engineering organizations through hypergrowth.
• Familiarity with MENA regulatory environments an advantage.
• Degree in computer science or engineering; advanced degree preferred.
